Leaf Season FY22 applications will be accepted online and in-person by the Department of Public Works (DPW). Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply online. Beginning July 20, 2022, through July 22, 2022, applications will be made available for in-person pick-up at The Reeves Building, 2000 14th Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20009 (1st floor security desk).

To apply in-person, applicants must report to The Reeves Building (1st floor Atrium) between 9:30 am to 2:00 pm on one of the following dates: July 25, July 27, August 1, August 3, or August 5, 2022, to submit a completed application.

For leaf season employment consideration, in-person applicants must wear a face mask and on the designated dates present the following documentation:  

Applicants will also be permitted to apply online and are strongly encouraged to do so via DC Department of Human Resources (DCHR) website (https://careers.dc.gov/) beginning July 25, 2022, thru August 5, 2022. To apply, follow the steps below, using the Job IDs for each respective position: Clerk - Job ID #g, Motor Vehicle Operator - Job ID #17917, and Sanitation Worker - Job ID #17924:

All candidates, regardless of affiliation with DPW, or other District Government agencies which partner with DPW, must apply for leaf season, and utilize the current District of Columbia Government Employment Application (DC 2000) Rev. 5/11. Returning applicants from the preceding year will have their previous year’s evaluations utilized as part of the application assessment and selection. Applicants selected to continue with next steps will be contacted during the month of September.
